Trauma Centre

Meet Dr.Stiles, an apprentice surgeon on Trauma Centre: Under the Knife. His fate to become a great surgeon is in your stylus now!

Atlus bundled Trauma Center with optimizing NDS handheld. It is a great choice that Atlus really make use of the NDS properly without feeling too goofy. Now your challenge is to operate the victim. Move your stylus to the doctor’s item on both left and right side. It is about getting used to the control then. This game is hard, though. After a while you will be bored by its repeated sequence of gameplay. But somehow Atlus brings sense of creativity in here.

The graphic is manga look-like. The 2D version is very satisfying. While Atlus did good job in gameplay and graphic, they failed at the storyline and sound site. As you will explore later, there are few background music. Most of them failed to create an atmosphere to put gamers under pressure, except for the bosses. The storyline itself is very flat and jumbled. It looks like the main storyline is over been thrust to get the plausibility in fiction. Some RPG gamers may be disappointed. Back to the sound, now we are moving to the sound effects. As you go into the game, your partner-a young nurse-will keep calling you “Doctor…Doctor!!!” to get your attention. She is also explaining the operation goals and how to do the operation. Later you will find that her keep calling is annoying. Your closest AI partner in this game seems being your top level enemy, too!

The unique gameplay, the manga scene, and the sense of taste being a surgeon probably make you curious. Be careful not to lose someone’s life!
